What in the world is a private message anyway?
The first picture is simply the light fixture in my living room, taken out of sheer boredom one day, but I thought it looked cool, so here it is.
Today was a fantastic day to take pictures, the sky, clouds, sunset, full moon.... I didn't capture them all, but I took a few minutes to take a few pictures. It's nearly a full moon, and as the moon was rising over the mountains just at dusk, I couldn't help but take a few pictures even though I was driving. (The luxury of long distance photos, and having the excuse of "it's only a phone cam", goes a long way in explaining blur.)
I'm having so much fun at posting on this blog, that I may actually go and get me a real camera one day... but then I wouldn't be able to justify any fault in my photos with my built in excuse, so maybe not!

Pictures 1-3 were taken last September... the first one was at my daughters soccer game. Sometimes I really wish my cam phone had some kind of zoom. The photo was not intended to be a picture of the mountains/clouds/sunset, but of the kids playing soccer. You'll have to look awfully close to see the kids, but the picture turned out very nice for the scenery. Pictures 2 and 3 were taken just after sunset at small lake where my family was camping over labor day weekend.
Pictures 4-11 were all taken last January at various times... these were cold winter days with the sun shining, and it was very pretty. (A common sight here in Utah, but still one that I never tire of.)
The last picture (12) was taken from an upper level of UVSC (a local college), looking out over Utah Lake and West Mountain. It's quite the view, and one of my favorite study spots.

La Sal Mountain Area
|
|
I added another 16 photos to yesterday's post, check them out if you want. ; )
Last fall, I spent a few days in an "out of the way" bed & breakfast place in the La Sal Mountains... It was really pretty there, and I took quite a few photos during walks and drives through the mountains. My first evening there, the deer would come right up to the inn and eat seeds out of the bird feeders. We all walked outside, and were withing a few feet of the animals, it was way cool. Our hostess even got closer, close enough for the deer to eat out of her hand. I took a few pictures of the deer, all of them from inside the dining room, through the windows so they are a little blurry. I tried to take some from outside, but the deer could hear the click of the button on my phone and would run away. The scenery in the mountains was fantastic that time of year with the leaves changing colors. I'll let the pictures of the sunsets speak for themselves.

Winter in Utah
|
|
All these photos were taken with my Nokia 3650 camera phone... the only digital camera I own. The first set of photos (1-5) where taken on a cold cloudy day in January, while driving. (Not the safest thing to do perhaps?). I was on my way home from school in the late morning, the sun was just visible through the clouds.... I thought it was quite pretty, so I took the pictures. The interesting things are the colors that turned out because my cam doesn't like the brightness of the sun, and how over just a few seconds the sky and clouds changed colors so dramatically (atleast in the pictures, the actual change wasn't quite as dramatic.
The second set of photos (6-11) were again taken while driving... perhaps I should change my photo taking habits? They were taken in Febuary of this year, just at sunset, while driving due west. The first photo has an American flag waving gently in the breeze, it was a lucky addition to a beautiful sunset, I didn't even know it was in the picture until much later when I uploaded the pictures from my phone to my desktop. Again, my cam phone detests any contrast in light... but it has made for some very interesting pictures. It doesn't make a good picture when you want to take a picture of a person when there is light contrast, but it does amazing things for scenery photos.
These photos were taken just outside of Heber City, near Deer Creek Resevior, in Febuary of this year. The far mountain range is Mt. Timpanogas. In most of these pictures, the flat snowy surface off to the right, and in the foreground in some, is the frozen resevior. (Pictures 12-21)
As the sun was rising in the East that morning, the clouds were moving by fast and changing shape... I was able to get a few pictures while driving (again), that I thought were nice. (Pictures 22-28)
I have a ton more pictures like the ones I've posted so far, but that's probably getting boring. If anyone wants to see more, make a post and I'll get more uploaded. The scenery here in Utah is so fantastic, it's hard for me not to take a million pictures, and having a cam phone means my camera is always there and ready. I've had my phone for nearly a year now, so I have somewhere near a billion pictures I want to post, but I don't want them all in one post... it seems they all wouldn't get viewed if I did that.

Sunset at the Ball Diamond
|
|
Posted June 4th, and many dates since then.
I love late spring and early summer if for nothing else than baseball/softball. It's something I look forward to every year when my kids start their little league games. I've been lucky that I've had two that wanted to play, and I've been able to watch them play. I've taken (and continue taking) pictures each night that I go to the ball diamond..... I'll keep posting pictures of them here, on this page.

Different Things
|
|
July 7th
I have a lot of random pictures that I like, but I'm not sure if anyone else will. I'm not sure they will even get looked at way back here since it's now July, and I'm creating a page dated in May. If you make it this far, please leave a comment... even if it's nothing more than "I was here", cause I'd like to know if these are getting seen at all. As I get new "random" pictures, I will post them here too, so if you like them keep checking back!
